Toe Rings
Although Toe Rings were introduced to the USA consumer in 1989 and are now a commodity, they've been ornate jewelry, most notably in India, for many years. Here, the wedding band goes on the bride's finger. During an Indian wedding ceremony, the bridegroom puts the Toe Ring(s) on the brides feet. In North India Toe Rings are an important 'Thali' (symbol of marriage). Of course, in the USA (and worldwide) they've become fashion statement in recent years and are now more popular than ever.
